Fabric Covered Flats

So last week when I covered my heels in fabric, I got carried away and gave new life to a pair of old crusty flats :)

    I love-love-love how you are covering shoes in fabric to make them brand new all over again! So a question -- i have a pair of flats I want to cover, but they are patent leather. Would I still use fabric glue, or do i need some other kind of glue?
