Last Saturday I went to an annual event called Africa Night. The African students from both Dalhousie University and Saint Mary's University come together for a great night as we celebrate diverse African cultures through music, dance, food and fashion. I did a little show for them this year. I made a small collection for the night and had 4 models to showcase the clutches. For now I will just do an outfit post of what I wore. Will share the rest when I have them all!
On the last day of Fashion Week a new friend, Black Sebath, introduced me to Donisha Prendergast, one of the granddaughters of the prolific Bob Marley. We chatted for a bit and I shared some of the things I have a passion for. Later on in the evening I had the honor of going backstage to watch her prepare for a runway show she was walking in for the Dare to Wear Love initiative to raise funds and awareness for HIV/AIDS in Africa.
Dare To Wear Love is a fashion show held to help raise awareness and funds to aid those affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa. Designers who participated made an outfit and got a model of their choice to model the outfit. This show was the PERFECT end to fashion week. The mood was unreal, it was electric. This was definitely one of my best moments of the week.
